Grape N Wine

This is my latest work on colored pencils on Pastel board 12x16. It took me about 120 Hrs over 25 days.

Procedure :

1. After transferring the line drawing on to the pastelboard, i laid a layer of neocolors ii (water soluble crayon). Remember to keep the highlights light and darkest areas dark. Always go for same color u see in the original cos sometime neocolors do not blend well with different colored colorpencils
2. Water wash the neocolors and let it dry completely for 10-15 mins (again time depends on your piece ).
3. Gave details using colored pencils. Ran the dry bristle brush over to blend the colors completely. Some time u may have to use damp brush to get the correct color (brush should hold very little water)
4. Sprayed with fixative and varnish

Catch u soon with another piece :)

First post :-)

As artists, we are all influenced by something or someone. Whether it be a Van Gogh or the art on a coffee can, it's there, you can't escape it. I was very much motivated by few colored pencil artists around. It was a great experience exploring their work, books and videos. Here is the first step i am taking to quench my thirst in becoming one of them. In my blog, you can find WIPs, techniques and more. So join me in exploring the creative world of art together:-)
